ProfileHub draws a set of fixed menu bar items, one per profile, each showing a two-row code of letters or SF Symbols. Combined with Bartender presets, which show one item and hide the rest, the result is a compact indicator of which profile is active. ProfileHub itself does no detection and keeps no state; it renders every item at launch and leaves them there, and Bartender does the switching.

It replaces a MenuBot-based setup in which seven Shortcuts each returned a static SF Symbol name for Bartender to show.

Other things it does:

  • Codes are written as strings in a single config file: a letter plus a flag (D+ for on, W- for dimmed), a braced SF Symbol name plus a flag, or an underscore for a blank cell. Four or eight cells split evenly into two rows. The shipping set uses filled and outlined letter circles for on and off.
  • Rendering sizes letters by cap height and symbols by their actual ink box, so both rows line up column for column and match the height of neighboring menu bar symbols. Items are template images, so they follow light and dark menu bars and dim correctly when highlighted.
  • Each item has a stable autosave name so macOS keeps their order across launches and Bartender can assign each one to a different preset.
  • A malformed code or unknown symbol name stops the app at launch with a message naming the offending string rather than drawing something wrong.

There is no settings window; changing the codes means editing the config and rebuilding.
