DockDoorHub is a private fork of DockDoor, the open-source Mac utility that shows live previews of an app’s windows when you hover its Dock icon and adds an Alt-Tab window switcher and a Cmd-Tab overlay. The fork started from upstream 1.40.1 and keeps upstream’s preview, switcher, and overlay behavior as they were.

The fork exists so the build is Doug’s own. It is renamed DockDoorHub, signed with his Developer ID, and the Sparkle update feed points at an address that never resolves, so an upstream release can never replace the custom build. The bundle identifier is unchanged, so settings and the Accessibility and Screen Recording grants carry over from the original. Upstream’s CI, Crowdin sync, and website files were removed.

The one added feature is Close Without Saving, a red item in a preview’s right-click menu between Close Window and Quit App. For Excel, Word, Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and TextEdit it asks the app directly by AppleScript to close the window and discard changes, so no save sheet appears and a minimized window stays minimized. For any other app it presses the window’s close button and then watches for the save prompt and clicks its discard button. The first use on each app triggers the macOS Automation permission prompt once.
